Gyu-Kaku’s all you can eat buffet costs $49 to $81 per adult in the US, depending on the city and the tier you choose. The three tiers are Premium (45 items), Ultimate (65 items) and Supreme (80 items), and each one gives you 90 minutes at the table. Is the Gyu-Kaku buffet worth it?

The answer depends on how much meat you eat. At Houston prices, six or seven mid-priced BBQ plates cost about the same as the $49 Premium tier. For example, Toro Beef, Yaki-Shabu Beef, Angus Beef Rib, New York Steak, Pork Belly, Chicken Basil and Shrimp Garlic add up to about $55 à la carte.

AYCE is a better deal for groups that want to try many items. It is a weaker deal for light eaters, because you pay for the time slot and any uneaten food is billed à la carte. Also remember that only 2 items arrive per person at a time, so the 90 minutes pass quickly.

Best ways to save at Gyu-Kaku

  • Visit at lunch on a weekday and choose the lunch AYCE or a Gyu-Combo.
  • Order during happy hour for lower à la carte prices.
  • Choose a course for 2 or more guests if you do not want a timer.
  • Bring seniors and kids, since they pay reduced AYCE prices.
  • Download the Gyu-Kaku app. New members get $10 off a future visit with a minimum spend of $30, according to the dessert menu terms.
  • Order only what you can finish, because uneaten AYCE food is charged.

Gyu-Kaku grill safety and dining tips

Gyu-Kaku’s menu includes a fire safety notice that is worth reading, especially when you order fatty cuts.

  • Cook only a couple of pieces at a time on the outer edge of the grill.
  • Lower the heat dial if a flare-up starts.
  • Move the pieces to the other side or off the grill for a moment.
  • Tell a team member right away if flames continue.
  • Use the metal tongs for raw meat and chopsticks for cooked meat.
  • Put table sauces on your plate, not on the grill.

The restaurant may limit fatty BBQ dishes per table to reduce fire risk.

Dietary and allergy information

Gyu-Kaku offers a separate vegetarian menu, and the grand menu marks vegetarian and gluten-free items. Beyond Bibimbap and Vegetable Sukiyaki Bibimbap are meat-free rice dishes. The Basil marinade contains pine nuts.

Gyu-Kaku food may contain MSG, eggs, soy, milk, wheat, sesame seeds or nuts. Tell your server or ask for a manager about allergies before you order. Raw or undercooked meat, poultry, seafood and eggs can raise the risk of foodborne illness.

Reservations, payment and parking

Most location pages link to online reservations through OpenTable. Mobile pay support differs by restaurant: Beverly Hills and Waikiki accept it, while Boston South Bay does not. Beverly Hills has meter parking on La Cienega Blvd and Clifton Way and offers $12 valet parking.

Orlando adds 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more, and its page also lists the gratuity for Premium All You Can Eat. Check your restaurant page for similar charges.
