How Much Does Cosmo Cost Compared by Day and Time
Across the 20 UK branches, the average Monday to Thursday adult price is £21.34. The average Saturday price is £23.69, which is about £2.35 more.
Choosing lunch over dinner saves £4.00 to £5.00 per adult at the eight lunch-deal branches. That is roughly 19% to 24% off, depending on the restaurant. Kids save £3.00 each at lunch in most of those branches.
Four branches (Glasgow Silverburn, Glasgow St Enoch, Liverpool and Preston) state that the price you pay is based on your departure time. If you arrive in the cheaper lunch window but stay past it, you may be charged the dinner rate.

Cosmo Buffet Menu: What You Can Eat at Each Station
Cosmo says it serves over 150 dishes from around the world. Manchester and Preston advertise more than 160 dishes, and Little COSMO in Newcastle lists over 100. The official site notes that menus and drinks vary from one restaurant to another, so the dishes below are examples named on Cosmo’s own pages.
Chinese Buffet (World of Asia)
The Chinese section draws on eight regional styles of cooking. Dishes named on the official pages include:
- Crispy duck pancakes with cucumber, spring onion and plum sauce
- Hong Kong-style sweet and sour
- Mongolian stir-fried lamb
- Chow mein, egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken
- Dim sum, dumplings, prawn wontons and spring rolls
Indian Buffet (House of Spice)
Curries and breads are cooked in small batches and refilled through the day. Dishes named on the official pages include:
- Butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, korma and lamb jalfrezi
- Kashmiri lamb and lamb rogan josh
- Samosas, onion bhajis and pakora
- Saag aloo and meat-free biryani
- Naan, raita and chutneys
Japanese Buffet and Teppanyaki
Chefs grill food to order on an iron hot plate. The teppanyaki station can be limited at lunch. Dishes named on the official pages include:
- Salmon, scallops, tiger prawns and steak
- Sushi, shrimp tempura and katsu curry
- Yakisoba noodles
Carvery
The carvery is a British roast dinner served any day of the week. Dishes named on the official pages include:
- Roast beef, turkey, lamb and gammon
- Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and cranberry sauce
- Caramelised carrots and parsnips with gravy
Italian and Continental Buffet
The Italian section features pizza from a wood-fired oven. Dishes named on the official pages include:
- Wood-fired pizza
- Spaghetti and meatballs, spaghetti bolognese, lasagne and penne arrabbiata
- Ratatouille, warm bread rolls and green salads
Deli Counter
The deli is the lighter, Mediterranean-style station. It offers:
- Charcuterie and a range of cheeses
- Olives
- Fresh salads, including mozzarella and cherry tomato
Tasting Kitchen
The tasting kitchen serves small plates so you can try more dishes without filling up. Dishes named on the official pages include mini burgers, chilli con carne, shepherd’s pie and small portions of Greek moussaka.
Desserts
The dessert area is built around a chocolate fountain for dipping marshmallows and fruit. Other items named on the official pages include:
- Strawberry cheesecake and tiramisu
- Homemade bite-sized cakes and pastries
- A gelato counter and fresh fruit
- Pick and mix sweets at Wolverhampton
Drinks
Drinks are not included in the buffet price. The official drinks page lists cocktails, spirits, wine, beer and ale, plus tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Free refills apply to soft drinks you have purchased.
Derby’s page names Birra Poretti, Asahi, Corona, Tsingtao, Cobra and Peroni, plus pints of San Miguel and Carlsberg Pilsner. Norwich confirms prosecco is available. Cosmo does not publish drink prices on its official branch pages.
Cosmo Lunch Menu vs Dinner Menu
Cosmo’s FAQ explains that an extended menu and the live cooking stations are offered in the evening. Lunch uses a reduced menu, and this is the reason for the lower lunch rate at the branches that have one.
Branch policies differ. Oxford runs its live cooking stations and chocolate fountain only at dinner and all day on weekends. Glasgow St Enoch says its stations and fountain run at all times, but the teppanyaki station has limited options at lunch.
Cosmo Christmas Buffet 2026
Cosmo’s Christmas Feast period starts on Tuesday 1 December 2026. The official page says opening times and December prices will be announced later, so no December price is confirmed yet.
The Christmas menu is served in addition to the standard world buffet. The PDF menu lists:
- Roasted beef rib with pink salt and mustard seeds
- Grilled turkey crown with cranberry sauce
- Braised lamb leg in Provence gravy
- Honey roasted gammon
- Pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes
- Pumpkin gratin, caramel parsnips and carrots, Provencal tomatoes and courgettes, garlic Brussels sprouts
- Christmas rice pudding with berry custard, mince pies with dips, a tiramisu combo and a mochi bar
Some festive items run on weekends only, and others on Christmas Eve and bank holidays. Menus vary by branch.
Cosmo Discounts, Offers and Parking Deals
Cosmo runs 10% discounts for students and for NHS, emergency services and armed forces staff at most branches. Exact days differ by restaurant. All of these exclude bank holidays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Valentine’s Day, apply to food only and cannot be combined with other offers.
Student and Blue Light Discounts by Branch
Students must show NUS, UCAS or university or college ID when seated. The student discount applies to the cardholder unless everyone in the group has approved ID. NHS and forces staff can bring up to five guests and must show a Blue Light card or work ID.

Cosmo Booking Rules, Time Limits and Deposits
Cosmo takes walk-ins, but it recommends booking. You can book online or by phone, and the phone lines can be busy.
- Tables are normally held for up to 15 minutes after the booking time.
- A rule of thumb of 1 hour 30 minutes applies to each sitting.
- Groups of six or more must secure the booking with a debit or credit card.
- If you do not cancel or reduce numbers 24 hours before, Cosmo may charge £5 per person for a no-show.
- Cosmo does not offer bulk discounts for large groups.
- There is no limit on how many times you can visit the buffet, but diners are asked to take only what they will eat.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. All restaurants have disabled access and can supply highchairs. Cosmo cannot warm baby food or milk, but staff can bring a bowl of hot water to your table.
What Is Not Included in the Cosmo Buffet Price
The set price covers the buffet only. Several extras can lift the final bill.
- Drinks: soft drinks, alcohol and hot drinks are charged separately.
- Service charge: a 3% discretionary charge is added to the bill.
- Infants under 5: £2.99 if they eat from the buffet.
- Peak days: weekend and Friday prices are higher at most branches.
- Departure time: some branches charge based on when you leave, not when you arrive.
A management reply on a review site quoted £4.10 for bottomless sodas at Liverpool. Cosmo does not publish this on its branch pages, so confirm the current soft drink price when you arrive.
Allergens, Halal and Dietary Information at Cosmo
Every restaurant displays allergen labels next to the dishes. Cosmo warns that ingredients may come from factories that handle other allergens, and traces may be present because it is a self-serve buffet.
Cosmo’s food is not halal certified. Some chefs source halal meat, and the manager on the day can advise you. Every restaurant says it offers vegetarian options, and chefs can cook a bespoke dish at the live cooking stations, which run during the evenings. Vegan options are not guaranteed on the official pages, so ask the team about your branch.
Tips to Get the Best Value at Cosmo
