GEN Korean BBQ Menu With Prices

GEN Korean BBQ Menu Prices

GEN Korean BBQ is an all-you-can-eat restaurant, so you pay one price per person instead of pricing each dish. In GEN’s latest annual report, lunch was about $20.95 to $20.99 per adult and dinner was $29.99 to $33.95 at most locations as of December 31, 2025. Premium cuts such as Wagyu are an add-on that diners commonly report at about $20 more per person.

Kids ages 4 and under eat free, ages 5 to 10 pay half price, and every table gets a 2-hour dining window. GEN raised prices modestly at most restaurants in February 2026, so your exact price depends on your city, the day and the time. Ownership is also changing, because Chubby Group agreed in October 2026 to take over 47 U.S. GEN restaurants in phases.

GEN Korean BBQ menu prices per person

GEN does not publish one national price. Each restaurant sets its own lunch and dinner price, and the official menu page sends guests to the locations page for local pricing. The table below shows the most reliable figures available.

TierPrice per adult
Lunch, most locations$20.95 to $20.99
Dinner, most locations$29.99 to $33.95
Premium add-onAbout +$20
Kids ages 5 to 10Half price
Kids ages 4 and underFree

The lunch and dinner ranges come from GEN’s annual report filed with the SEC in March 2026 and describe prices as of December 31, 2025. The $20 premium add-on is not printed on the official menu page, but diners at several locations report it.

The price schedule most diners report

At the Pearlridge location in Hawaii, a diner described the schedule this way. Treat it as a typical pattern and confirm it at your own restaurant.

  • Lunch price applies Monday to Thursday from opening until 3 pm
  • Dinner price applies after 3 pm Monday to Thursday
  • Dinner price applies all day Friday to Sunday and on holidays

GEN Korean BBQ prices by location

Pearlridge, HI (diner report)$20.95$33.95

The Manhattan and Miracle Mile figures come from the same annual report and reflect December 31, 2025 pricing. Expect the February 2026 increase to add a modest amount on top.

Las Vegas Miracle Mile is a special case

The Miracle Mile restaurant on the Strip runs a different format from most GEN locations.

  • OpenTable lists $56.95 per person for its premium all-you-can-eat menu with Korean BBQ plus sushi

What changes between lunch, dinner and premium

GEN Korean BBQ rules you should know before you go

The official site lists a short set of rules that apply to the AYCE experience.

  • The dining window is 2 hours
  • Everyone at the table must choose the same tier
  • A leftovers fee applies, and carry-out boxes are not available for AYCE items
  • Reservations are available for parties of 10 or more
  • Not every item is available at every location

The same-tier rule matters for planning. If one person wants premium, the whole table orders premium.

GEN Korean BBQ locations in 2026

GEN had 57 restaurants at the end of 2025, including 6 in South Korea. By June 30, 2026 the company reported 54 locations after exiting six underperforming restaurants in the second quarter. The chain operates in California, Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, Florida, Washington, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and South Korea. About 42% of U.S. restaurants are in California.

GEN is pursuing a restaurant at 26 Brattle Street in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. The 8,671 square foot space is at least a year from opening and still needs city approvals.

Big news: Chubby Group is buying 47 GEN restaurants

On October 14, 2026, GEN Restaurant Group announced a binding letter of intent to transfer operations of 47 U.S. restaurants to Chubby Group. The deal is valued at up to $100 million and includes four development sites. Chubby Group also owns Chubby Cattle, Wagyu House, The X Pot and NIKU X.

The takeover happens in four phases over 12 months. The first 12 restaurants were targeted for November 1, 2026, and I could not find a confirmation of that handover as of November 2.

What changes for diners

  • Top-performing restaurants will become GEN X, a wagyu-forward take on Korean BBQ
  • Other restaurants will convert to existing Chubby Group concepts
  • Chubby plans better proteins, self-service buffet stations for vegetables and sides, and renovated interiors
  • Chubby has not said whether all-you-can-eat prices will change
  • It is unclear whether GEN gift cards and loyalty benefits will carry over

GEN will keep the GEN brand, its grocery products business and about 3 restaurants, including Cerritos, for training and product development. This is a sale of operations, not an immediate shutdown of all restaurants.

Which locations may change first

Chubby Group’s website lists 12 upcoming GEN X locations. It is not confirmed that these are the same 12 in the November handover.

  • California: Rancho Cucamonga, Corona, Alhambra, Torrance, Glendale, Fullerton, Tustin and Oxnard
  • Texas: Carrollton
  • Hawaii: Kapolei and Maui
  • Nevada: Las Vegas Sahara

Earlier in 2026, five GEN restaurants moved into a joint venture where Chubby Cattle owns 51% and GEN owns 49%. Those restaurants now operate under the Chubby Cattle name.

Is GEN Korean BBQ worth the price

The value depends on how much you eat. A weekday lunch at about $20.95 is the cheapest way in, and the lunch menu has 63 selections.

One comparison helps. A Pearlridge to-go listing shows 1 pound of Hawaiian Steak at $20.99, about the same as a weekday lunch buffet at that location. Other to-go prices there include Nook Gan Sal at $17.98 per pound and Honey Chicken at $13.99 per pound.

GEN compared with KPOT

KPOT is a closest AYCE rival, but it adds hot pot and sushi. These are KPOT’s published 2026 tiers.

TierGEN (typical)KPOT
Weekday lunch$20.95$24.99
Weekday dinner$29.99 to $33.95$32.99
Weekend dinner$33.95$36.99

GEN is grill only, with no hot pot. Its table window is 2 hours.

Allergen and diet notes

The official menu flags a few allergens. Cheese Tonkatsu, Cheese Kimchi Fried Rice and Corn Cheese contain dairy. Hotteok contains peanuts.

GEN is built around meat, so strict vegetarians have limited choices. Japchae, kimchi fried rice, salad, rice, grilled vegetables, garlic and jalapenos are the likeliest options. Ask staff about broths and sauces, and expect shared grills and self-serve banchan.

GEN To-Go, catering, hibachi, gift cards and grocery products

GEN sells more than dine-in meals. These are the other ways to buy.

  • GEN To-Go: pickup ordering at thegenshop.com/to-go, with delivery listed as coming soon on the locator
  • Hawaii to-go examples: 2 meats, 2 sides and rice for $17, and 4 meats, 3 sides and rice for $29
  • Catering: ezCater catering is offered from the Cerritos restaurant within 20 miles
  • Gift cards and GEN Loyalty: both have pages on the official site
  • Grocery: ready-to-cook GEN products are sold in stores such as Costco and Albertsons

Korean Hibachi by GEN KBBQ

GEN’s hibachi site offers private chef parties at your home or venue. Each party is scheduled for 90 minutes. Prices are per person.

PackagePrice per person
3 meats$50
4 meats$55
5 meats$60

Upgrades are Premium Ribeye at +$15, Filet Mignon at +$20, Lobster at +$25 and Japanese A5 Wagyu at +$50. Kids ages 5 to 11 are $25, ages 12 and up pay adult price, and ages 4 and under eat free.

How to save money at GEN Korean BBQ

A few habits can lower the bill.

  • Go on a weekday for lunch, when the lowest price applies
  • Skip premium unless you plan to eat the Wagyu and short rib cuts
  • Bring kids ages 5 to 10 for half price
  • Confirm your local price on the locator before you go
  • Order small rounds to avoid the leftovers fee

How to order smart at GEN

Start with thin cuts that cook fast, such as Premium Chadol and Woo Beasal. Add one marinated meat, such as Beef Bulgogi or Garlic Chicken, so the grill stays busy.

Save heavier items like Cheese Tonkatsu, fried rice and Hotteok for later in your 2 hours. Order a little at a time, because leftovers are charged. Ask for a grill change when the surface gets dark.

Use the Yelp check-in option when available to cut your wait, since walk-in lines can be long at busy locations.
