About Gatti’s Pizza
Mr Gatti’s began in 1964 as The Pizza Place in Stephenville, Texas, founded by retired Air Force Lt. Col. James Eure. The chain was renamed Mr. Gatti’s Pizza in Austin in 1969, after the maiden name of Eure’s wife. It was called Gatti’s Pizza from 2007 and went back to Mr Gatti’s in 2016.
The company is based in Fort Worth, Texas, and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January 2019. It has since grown through franchising. OneRyan Global, a franchisee since 2022, bought a minority stake in September 2025 and later took a controlling interest.
